Don't paint the white bonnet! I think the painting has increased impact with the painted face and then just the pencil work defining the bonnet. I think you risk shutting the painting down if you add anything else - it is perfect as it is. Just a personal view from someone who loves white paper - but see what you. If this is your first portrait in colour then I think you can be very proud of yourself!

She is adorable, and you've painted her beautifully, Ellie. I agree with Thea that you've done enough and the bonnet should be left to the imagination - just my humble opinion...

Well I am only 18 months too late with this one but it was a super baby portrait, gorgeous facial features
