Van Rouge

Great work Paul, I like your colours 😀

Love the truck. Not sure why they appeal so much, a remembrance of youth perhaps, or maybe because they have their life's work written all over them...a bit like this old codger.

A splendid rusting truck. Great subject.

Good old truck, with a nice play on words !!

Thank you all for your kind comments. Pleased someone noticed the play on words Richard. I don’t know why they appeal Lew, to me it’s the history they carry and the colours when decaying away. Old ships have the romantic atmosphere of venturing to exotic places etc.

I love an old clapped out, rusty truck and this fits the bill Paul. Well painted.

Thank you Fiona, not often that I have a female say they like old trucks, but why not there is so much going on.

So much more to interest the eye compared to a bright shiny new one! This kind of subject has much more character.

Thank you Fiona, I agree there is something about old cars etc.

Van Rouge gaily abandoned to do its own thing & doesn't it look good for it. You have me wondering what the barrels originally contained Paul. Degeneration portrayed wonderfully.

Thank you Brian for your comment. I agree that it looks good in its old age, as to what was in the barrels I often wonder about thinks when looking at old photos like this. Sherry or Port would be my guess, the used for whiskey.

Lovely detail on that old truck. Beautiful.

A3 watercolour of an abandoned truck and vineyard. Might develop the background a bit more, as I’m not over keen on the vineyard hillside.
