That is a lovely painting, Dixie and I am sure it will be even more enhanced once it is framed!!

I like it Dixie, the evening sky is great. I'm sure your friend will love it.

I like the colours you have used here Paul and am so impressed at how you can do such fine lines, mine always end up at least five times thicker than they were meant to be!. Lovely painting.

David, Lew and Denise thank you for your kind comments. I’m afraid I had to resort to a pen for the lines Denise as I’m having to learn to hold a brush without using my thumb, I always though I a cheat but it wax painted out to me recently that it’s better than not painting. I used to do all my lines with a rigger , I hope that once I’ve mastered holding the brush I can do so again .

Grand indeed. This is lovely Paul. Colours are gawjus. I'm impressed by your steady hand. There's no way I could ever paint/draw such fine lines. Your pal will love this 😀

Many thanks Pauline your comment is appreciated.

One of your very best that I have seen from you Paul. A fabulous painting.

Chris thank you for your very kind comment, it’s actually really boosted my moral . I’m struggling at the moment with a dexterity problems and I’m needing to change how I paint as I can’t hold a brush in the conventional way. My style of painting has changed as I cannot do he detailing I used to do, in many ways I have gone back to how I first painted. I have to admit in actuality enjoying the chance to chance and the challenge.

Great great painting Paul, your friend will be made up.

The colours are so subtle Paul. Really like it

Thank you Denise and Gillian for taking the time to look and comment it appreciated.

You have only my utmost admiration Paul for your determination to paint no matter what. Long may you continue.

Another beauty Dixie! That rigging is amazing.

I don’t think anything is cheating in art Dixie. I sometimes use a ruler or the edge of a book to get a straight line because my hand isn’t always steady. Lovely result. You are a whiz with boats!

Thank you Chris, Anth and Tessa for your kind and encouraging comments.

This is a great painting Paul. I am sure your friend will be delighted. The boats are set off beautifully by that gorgeous sunset.

This is a beautiful painting, Paul with a super sky. Your friend will be very pleased! I admire the way you cope with your challenges and as far as I know there are no rules in art- lovely rigging!

Spencer and Anne many thanks for your supportive comments.

Beautiful boats and lovely calm light - it will look lovely once framed. I admire your tenacity Paul - it's definitely worth it!

Thank you for taking the time to look and comment Sarah.

Lovely grand old ladies

Thank you Heather ,these old boats are rather special, these days I’m finding more and more older things are rather special.

Extremely good Paul. The sky is so good as is the detailed rigging. Agree with Chris, you have excelled.

Well drawn and painted Paul, I like the way that you planned the distant trees in order to highlight the top of boats

Lovely boats Paul and the rigging is great- doesn’t matter how you do it. A nice gift for your friend.

Watercolour painting on 23x32 cm painting with a a4 mount . I have painted a similar scene several time , this is similar to one I did for a friend a few years ago, his brother keeps asking when he is going to give it to him . I was asked to do one similar but said I would not do it the same , the different is the sunset in this one , he wants it for his brothers 60 birthday in two weeks . It going off tomorrow to be professionally framed hope it pleases him . Old barges awaiting refit and a cleaning.
