Lovely painting, Paul and just the right amount of detail!!

Love how you have painted the owl about to pounce Paul.

It's lovely Paul and the feathers look very good as is

You’ve got the balance of detail just right Paul, we can fill the rest in, if we want to. I like the ‘in action’ composition.

Looks good to me Paul.

Nice composition Paul.

Interesting pose Paul and set off very well against the grey background

I love owls and yours looks great just as it is. It has a freshness about it and so I would resist doing any more to it. Lovely.

Thank you all for your very kind comments I really appreciate them they are always a great confidence booster .

Lovely painting Paul.

You have captured the luminosity of this barn owl very well Paul.

Very well painted Paul.

Chris, Denise and John thank you for you comments I appreciate them.

A lovely painting Paul. The owl stands out so well against the darker background.

I think you did a good job with the loose style, I always really like your animals very much!

Stephen, Diane and Tanja thank you for your comments.

Poor wee mousie ,nice one Paul.

Lovely work, Dixie.

Super owl with great movement Dixie. We don’t see many owls round here lately, sadly. They are one of the most beautiful magical birds when seen in flight.

Sylvia, Carol and Tessa thank you for you kind comments. I was lucky Tessa as there were a breading pair in the old barn where I work with the National Trust we had a camera in the nest and watched them from birth to first flight .

Just coming in to land on some poor mouse, captured the pose well Paul.

Real action painting Paul. Only just spotted this on gallery. He's intent on a mill that's certain! Lovely!

That should say kill not mill! Sorry.

Ruth thank you for your very kind comment.

A4 watercolour painting of a owl about to catch it dinner. An imaginary scene I wanted to keep the detailing to a minimum as I have the habit of fiddling with my paintings often resulting in the been overworked. I decided to attempt this one having pains quite a few owls in the past but not as loose as this , I like it but itching to put in a bit more feather details .
