Hello Ben. What a beauty. Lovely painting Paul. Good composition and colours 👌

Wow, Paul that is really good. You say you are out of your comfort zone but it certainly does not look like it.

Saw this on the forum and it's really good - I definitely think you should do more!

Thank you Faye , David and Heather for your kind comments. I tempted to do more horse painting Heather , a plough scene and maybe a horse having new shoes fitted the possibilities are endless . Make a change from boats etc.

Well, you did it ! beautifully. Definitely good to get out of the comfort zone.

This looks fantastic Paul and you should definitely do more of them. Well done.

Thank you Marjorie and Denise for your very kind comments. I’m already planning another Denise.

Well done, Dixie. We all know how endearing our comfort zones are, so well done for stepping out of yours. Excellent.

Love the serenity well done

Absolutely beautiful!

Thanks Lew, Moira and Anne for your very nice comments. Despite the initial pressure I actually enjoyed it Lew, certainly something to do more often , but not for a while .

That’s so good, beautiful

Paul, give yourself a well earned pat on the back, a tremendous result!

Nice work Paul. I like the way you have painted Ben.

Many thanks Romila, Fiona and David for your comments they are appreciated.

A beautiful painting Paul.

Love the doleful expression and the mane worked out fine too.

Fantastic work Paul.👏👏

Thank you Diane , Linda and Herman for you comment they are really appreciated. Linda thank you for your encouraging remarks when it was a WIP and thanks to all for their encouragement.

Really good Paul.

Thank you George for you comment, much appreciated.

Good for you for going out of your comfort zone and what a result! Very impressive Paul.

Thank you Val , your comment is appreciated.

What a super horse, and smashing humour in the notice!!!

Thank you Thalia, someone had changed the sign at the stables where I took the photo, appealed to mys sense of humour. My ten year old granddaughter thought it was hilarious, shows how juvenile my humour is I suppose.

Aw, he’s cute!

Thank you Emma for you comment it’s appreciated.

I love horses and I love "Ben". I want to give him an apple!!!! Well done for going out of your comfort zone, Dixie! It takes courage but you learn such a lot.

Thank you Jennifer for your kind comment it’s much appreciated.

Hi Paul. I have just seen a selection of your latest painting and I must say you have been very busy. As always they are a pleasure to view. Love your different styles. Do you always paint in watercolour?

Thank you Candy for you lovely comment. Yes I only use watercolour I do sometimes use pastel and sketch a lot . I can’t use oils due to the smells and chemicals side of it, and I find acrylic ok to use but I miss the opacity that you get with watercolour. When I do a painting I try to think how it might look as to the style that suits it.

Lovely painting of Ben, captured so well and sensitive too, horses inspire and this study turned out superb!

A 24x32 cm watercolour painting on 200gsm paper . Well out of my comfort zone on this painting , I has shied away from them up till now. As someone just said to me that’s the easy bit , try doing a full horse, I’m going to next. Stressful to but but enjoyed painting it , learned a lot a well.
