Beautifully demonstrated death and decay Diana. Your palette portrays this so well.

So good Diana, a fabulous watercolour despite the subject

A wonderful piece, Diana. I find it to look at but that of course takes nothing away from your skill.

This is fantastic, Diana. What size is it?

Well I'm not going to say I've got a bone to pick with you! But it's an exceptional painting Diana. 😁

That is yet again superb, Diana! You attention to detail is quite phenomenal!

Another great painting

Sad but so realistic Diana.

That which we cannot see, but can feel in the hidden depths……..a soul past, but a memory remains to bring new life. You are the catalyst Diana and you have given it new life….all this, and more. Love it!

Beautifully sad!

An amazing study, which must have been quite a challenge Diana. You have turned death into an art form so successfully and of course death is part of life so it’s interesting to see an emptiness within a bird that was once full of life. Such a skilful painting.

So unusual Diana and beautifully painted again. Has such depth and impact and reminds us of the fragility of life.

I feel moved that you have honoured the bird in this beautiful way Diana.

Thank you Carole. I think the colours grabbed my attention with the blue sheen of sunlight on the feathers. Thank you Heather. I seem to see beauty in some unusual subjects😂 Thank you Marjorie. It’s certainly not something everyone would want on the wall ! Thank you Mia. It’s about 12x9’’ I’m not sure that it would work on a bigger scale. Might try it in oil Thanks Chris! I really appreciate your interest and encouragement Thanks for looking David. I loved the negative shapes of the shadows Thank you Faye. I’ve really enjoyed these two. Maybe my ancestry draws me towards such subjects! I’m related to one of the Pendle witches 😂 It was quite sad but I’m told there’s beauty in all stages of life. Beautiful words Fiona and such a wonderful compliment. I really love that thought. I agree with you manoj There is beauty Thank you. Thank you Carole for your thoughtful comment. Lovely to read. Thank you Denise. Yes, life is incredibly fragile and unpredictable. Thanks Russell. I might return to a project I started 46 years ago at college. It was called ‘dead’ and the beauty of decaying life. Sounds morbid but covers so much Thank you Diane. That’s a lovely thought. I started my art interest drawing things found outside, rather like Ruskin whose drawings I admire. I have thoroughly enjoyed these pieces

This is another study of the bird skeleton I found on my woodland walk. This one has more raw realism. Watercolour and ink
