Love how the strong light and reflections conjure up such a blissful beach scene. This is lovely Dermot and such an inspirational watercolour.

Joquan Sorolla was the master of light, I’m sure that you’ve studied his work Dermot. Excellent job done here and a great figure!

I had one of those days in your description yesterday Dermot……apart from the beers! The only other difference from my scene to yours was, the ladies didn’t look as elegant…….. A beautiful watercolour and masterly handled shadows.

I love a sunny day at the beach ,days full of promise , fish and chips and a few cold beers , pure heaven. Watercolour to me is the perfect medium for catching the beauty of light on water , sand and people , my favourite part of painting in Watercolour is painting shadows and reflections as it unifies the whole piece like magic.
