This has turned out really good David, I do like your colour combinations.

David, improved no end mate. Glad you've learned, I never stop.

Thanks Both! Ref the colour...don't you think its a tad bland?

David, you've transformed it, well done!! So much more variation in tones, you must be really pleased with how its turned out. One small point: by introducing the texture bottom left, you have created a path leading out of the picture - it might have been even more effective if you could have used some device to stop the eye running off the page. But hay, thats just nit-picking, this is a good job

No not bland at all, has a mystical feel to it.

Thanks for the comments, very kind. Alan, that's a VERY good compliment because the actual tower has always held a mystical fascination for me: sort of anachronistic thing sat there amongst the trees. Thanks for the comment! Sharon, thanks for that. Could you elaborate? What sort of device might I have added?? I did wonder about an old tractor or something brighter to draw the eye but then decided that would be one egg too many...as the French say, an oeffs an oeuf. David

youre right, nothing too complicated David. The water tower is the star of your show, you dont want anything that wll compete with it. Just something to block that escape route, and lead the eye back : a tree, or even just continue the grass verge up, to meet the bottom of the tree line ? Its just a detail, no big deal.

This is it now. I added some foreground stuff and you were all right, it looks much better. I have really over egged this piece, its more like a living sketch pad: I learnt so much from this one painting it's incredible. But now it's done...over egged, over painted, over!
