This is adorable Russell, especially the bruises and dirty legs. Love the naturalness of this. It’s consoling to know that children are so down in the dumps one moment but bounce back so quickly as if nothing had happened. However, I do feel her pain. You are a great inspiration Russell.

Superbly drawn and great details from the bruises on her legs to her trainers. A picture that could tell many stories, as you say, with children. You must have some great photos to work from. A merry Christmas to you and yours Russell and can’t wait to see what you post in 2023.

40cm x 50cm charcoal From a series of photographs I took of Sophie playing and running around a park, she sat down in the shade fo a breather and I happened to take a shot as she brushed her hair from her face. I could have called the piece 'Anguish', 'Heartache' or 'Despair' etc but it was a totally innocuous act. Happy Christmas Everyone!
