Similar pair of gates at my home in Anglesey. Your demo painting is lovely with the distant hills not competing with the centre of focus. Thanks for posting your work on this site.

Thanks Paul, i have enjoyed looking at your work as some reminds me of our 25 years living at Blaenau Ffestiniog and Llandudno. Yes its a trap some artists fall into with regard to the centre of interest.

We now live in Devon so i paint Dartmoor and the coast.............but, i still enjoy painting Snowdonia.

Beautifully painted David, old buildings and stone walls look so good in watercolour.

Beautifully painted, the sort of place you would be happy living in.

A super demo, David.

Watercolour sketch 7" x 9" shows the tradiional gates found in Snowdonia. Farm gates around Britain have their unique designs and it is always interesting how they were made of wood or metal. While sketching this with a group of students ,we were surrounded by sheep and the farmers dogs guiding them on there way to a field!!! This was a demo .
