There is a lot of negative painting , where a dark wash highlights a light shape i.e the middle barn. This gives variety to paintings.

A beautiful painting Davis and so beautifully painted, love the pallet you have used and how they have blended.

Gosh that was quick Paul

Lovely painting David the soft background washes are brilliant.

A lovely painting! Superb!

Lovely, this has a superb quality to it, can almost feel that cool and crisp air.

Thank you everyone for your very kind comments Dave

This is great, David.

Very atmospheric David.

Love the colours of the sky reflected in the mountain and the overall harmony of this lovely scene David. Makes me want to get out my watercolours.

Love how you captured the scale of the scene. Beautiful translucent washes and lovely use of lost and found. Nicely done, David.

A beautiful example of the medium David…..a real beauty.

A lovely landscape watercolour David. Thank you for giving the colours you used and the way that you went about painting it. I love watercolour landscapes but find them tricky.

15" x 12" watercolour. This is a view in the lovely village of Croesor. The painting was done from a sketch on site and photographs. It is a way of doing things if you want to have more control. It is a fairly limited palette. Colours: FU, Light R, Raw S, Burnt U and Cerulean B. The mid distant trees were dropped in when i painted the mid distant hill on the left and as the tree wash was going off, i then used the corner of a cridit card to indicate the tree trunks.
