Then i wetted the back and applied weights to flatten it!!! Snowdon is to the left and Cnicht are in the distance

Very effective and a beautiful painting!

What’s superb painting David there is so many good things about it . Has an olde world look and feel to it , created by that slight misty background.

Super David and what a technique!

Super painting.

Love the mistiness and mystery this painting evokes. The castle looks so romantic and olde worldly David. A stunning piece of work.

Thank you everyone for your very kind comments they are always appreciated .

Great painting, David - it's very atmospheric now that you've given it the bath treatment!

Great tip for re-vamping David......what a result, a beauty.

Awesome painting, bath treatment has created beautiful effects

Beautiful, Merlin country, mysterious atmosphere love it.

Beautiful soft light, just as I remember Wales! Really effective now, David!

That's lovely David.

20" x 27" watercolour on Saunder rough. I painted this quite a few years ago and was not happy with the finished image, it lacked atmosphere that i felt the scene needed. I had to take drastic action and give it `The Order of Bath`!!!! At first i put the whole painting in a bath of cold water and tried sponging. This did not work so i filled the bath with warm water, gradually heating it until the paint dissolved. I let it dry naturally.
