Excellent advice, I shall endeavour to take it on board. The distant trees give this painting a great sense of depth.

Great tip and lovely painting

Beautiful scene and well painted

This is exquisite David, especially the beautifully streaked sky and the denuded trees. Thank you for the very useful tips on painting snow.Wishing you a very Merry Christmas & a healthy, happy Nee Year David.

A real beauty David, a super winter scene.

A delightful winter scene showing the lilt of the moors and rise, and subdued sky, then leaving a patch of paper clear for the snow mid-way.

Thank you everyone for your very kind comments, its always appreciated and nice to hear from you all. A happy New Year to you all.

A really lovely scene, beautifully painted, David.

A really excellent watercolour David , a great composition and feeling of depth. I particularly like the way you have painted the sky and trees . Very atmospheric piece , I can feel the cold just looking at the painting .

Watercolour 20”x 16” This painting was done from a pic taken by my wife Liz while we were travelling on the M5 !!! With snow scenes an Artist can be drawn into the trap of leaving to much white paper. I have found though experience to subdue areas with a glaze of say the sky shadow colour………not always grey. This makes the white paper you have left , really shine out. This injects colour into a scene as would a French Ultra glaze, which is also useful as shadows. A very Merry Christmas
