We were in attendance all the time, but when the gallery was busy and we were wrapping paintings or selling our cards, it was difficult to keep your eyes on everything. But you don`t expect something like this to happen. As i said it taught us a lesson and we never had another painting taken from any more exhibitions.

Really good David. Looking on the bright side, someone must have thought so too to steal it.

It's a stunning picture, how dreadful for it to be taken.

What a good job you did this beautiful sketch and painted it - what an awful thing to do! Sad to hear this wonderful old building was demolished.

This is good, that's why someone took it :)

A very interesting story David. I love those rich colours of the barn and the birds in that beautifully painted sky. Lovely to have a memory of such a lovely barn, which is sadly no more.

Interesting range of colours.

Great painting at least you still have a picture of it, I had a painting of a Merlin hawk stolen off the wall where I worked in a framing shop, I often wonder where it is now and unfortunately I didn't take a picture of it then, don't think I had a mobile phone at the time 😟

A great painting of a beautiful building, David. A painting with a story!

Thank you everyone for your kind comments its always appreciated and interesting. Yes there are quite a few artists who have had stuff taken as well as paintings. Thank goodness i took a photograph. I always photograph everything Liz and I paint or sketch now. What a shame Linda about your painting. Yes, an interesting story with this one.

Excellent watercolour David. I especially like the granulation in the sky and the way you have painted the shrubbery around the barn, again I think because of the granulation. I can’t get over the cheek of some people!

Beautiful painting

20” x 16” watercolour Colours: Sky :French U, Rest of painting: Raw S, Burnt S, Brown M and Lemon Y. This lovely old barn which was next to the A355 just before Farnham Common is no longer there, I am so glad I sketched then painted it. I have no idea why it was demolished as there isn’t a new housing estate!! We have no idea where this painting is , as it was stolen off the walls from our Exhibition at The Old Majors Parlor, now called The Craft Gallery, Hereford years ago.
