My painting of the sketch above. The Two Moors Way

Comments

I used phthalocyanine blue in the sky. I did the sky upside down by starting with water then gradually bringing in the blue. The distant hills were done with the same colour and the Tors i added a touch of Alizarine crimson.

It's a beauty David.

Lovely to see how the sketch is converted into a superb watercolour!!

Yes, great to see how the drawing translated. Beautifully painted and that misty sky and mountains lovely.

It is superb. I really like everything about it.

Excellent, David - it is so beautiful. I love it!

Very good work David, interesting to see how you converted the sketch into the finished watercolour.

Good to see your finished product too David a beautiful watercolour indeed.

It has come out beautifully as a painting. I love the Misty moorland and the birds circling in the sky.

Thank you everyone for your very kind comments

Watercolour 20" x 16" framed. In this painting from the sketch above i wanted to create real atmospheric distance. One way to achieve this is to use a synthetic pigment in the sky and then earth colours in the foreground.
