Staithes Harbour

Comments

Another good one, David, in a beautiful part of the country.

Lovely as is Staithes

Excellent painting David like your style very much.

A charming painting, David - I like the slightly misty distance .

Beautiful.

Such a beautiful place and you have done a great painting of it.

Nice work David, reminds me so much of that place. My last painting was painted using Cobra water miscible paints. I enjoyed using them.

Lovely painting of a lovely place

A wonderful harmony to the palette you’ve chosen to represent the harbour David. Love the softness of the application and the way you have blended the paint. A little cracker!

Thank you all so much for your kind comments. I really like Staithes and after visiting it last time one of the things that struck me about the place was the way that the buildings and walls seemed to have the same earthy qualities as the shore and cliffs around it. This was one of the things that I was trying to capture in the painting if I could so I used plenty of the earth colours like burnt sienna and raw umber in this.
