This is very atmospheric, and the colours are so nice too.:)

This is a painting that got darker and more mysterious as it progressed, also earlier in the morning. I wanted to catch that moment when the sun is just rising and the colour of the landscape is beginning to emerge, the early morning mist having evaporated. The foreground started fairly bright, mainly cadmium yellow and cadmium red but I found it too obvious. I changed the whole mood by modifying the colours through brighter greens - layering ultramarine and caerulean - later building up with a magenta mix. Painting measures 40 x 45 cms on canvas stretched over board.
