This was a fun painting to make. Laurie is a very experienced model who makes some lovely shapes. I like the challenge of having more than one figure on the page/canvas. The original drawing suggested that Laurie was dancing and had such joy in the movement that I couldn't resist adding the poppies. It is the fourth painting I submitted for the Inspired Life exhibition and it also seemed to please the selectors.
