Toronto, Ontario, Canada, 76x56cm, Watercolour on Arches rough, 300g. In Downtown Toronto the tram network goes back to the 19th century. It’s streetcars stop on demand! I was attracted by the contrast of the „old“ and „new“ way of transportation sharing the same street level. In my watercolour the red streetcar is my focal point, supported by a beam of sunlight falling through the gap between two high-rises. There is a lot of tension between the modern glass facades mirroring the blue sky and the old building with columns and arches in the left part of the picture. My painting shows the cross of Yonge St and King St.
