Your portrait work is refreshingly different and I admire your bold use of oil pastels. It’s a medium I have recently been using but with a few disasters along the way.Fiona has a very soulful expression and I love your vigorous marks Christine.

Oil Pastel, 40h x 59w cm. The second portrait of this subject, but a different, scratchier, treatment this time, which I think gives more life to it. A normal kitchen knife is useful for certain mark-making and scraping, but I also use the pastels directly onto the paper.
