Acrylic on canvas 50x40cms I had a tiny colour study of this subject -again stuck away on a shelf in the studio for a long time. I had always wanted to expand the image onto a large canvas and somehow by just putting a series of random charcoal marks on a new canvas seemed to unexpectedly suggest this was indeed the time to try. I like the energy in the painting coming from those graphic marks - especially after the quiet repose of the still life paintings I have been doing recently!
