SHADY LANE

Tried and succeeded, I should say - not every painting has to be illuminated by a strong and obvious light source, of course; I like this one - again, you've opened out the composition and given a real sense of scale and place. Like the restraint in it, too = whereas some of us (I really mean me) can go a bit wild with the foliage, you've got an excellent balance in this.

Charles you have the gift of understating elements of your paintings but at the same time make them so obvious. The stones in the bank on the right are SO obviously there, yet almost hidden. The moss covered wall on the left, the light at the end of the tunnel. I can almost smell the loam! Love it!!

The light looks great, I like the dappled bit of sunlight on the path.

I agree with the above comments, Beautiful painting Charles, nice composition and light

I've run out of superlatives, Charles! Everyone of your paintings is a stunner. Just love the way the path leads the eye straight to the light. Beautifully done, as usual.

Another masterpiece Charles.
