Great job of the river Bobbie, such appropriate colours and the foliage is also pretty impressive.

I agree with Carole. I like the way you have done the water and the foliage too. It hangs together nicely.

Thank you Carole and Diane. I wish I'd had time to finish it en plein air, but I got enough colour down "from life" on the day to finish it afterwards.

I began this view of Sulby River en plein air while marshalling at the Manx Grand Prix a couple of weeks ago, finishing it on Thursday while I was sitting in on my stand at h.Art. Pastel pencils on 24 x 30 cm grey Canson pastel paper. The water in Sulby River was peaty brown after a night of rain, and I was attracted by the bright orange crocosmia growing wild on the far bank.
