It's turned out really well Bobbie

Very good result - I like how prints are not defined at the edges, part of their charm.

Thank you Heather, Marjorie and Carol. I really enjoy monoprinting - it's exciting and unpredictable, and the textures in these ancient gnarled trees are perfect for this technique. This print came out a bit dark to the point where I almost discarded it. I'm glad I didn't!

I’ve just seen your monoprint on the top line of the gallery page Bobbie…..don’t know how I missed it because it’s a beauty. Your tree has character and synergy……lovely.

Monoprint of 2 ancient trees in the Chestnut Avenue at Croft Castle near Leominster, which was planted between 1590 and 1620 to commemorate the defeat of the Spanish Armada. This is part of a series based on the large collection of ancient trees at Croft. This print from one of my own photos came out quite dark, and I've coloured it with soft pastel (layer 1) overlaid with oil pastel (layer 2).
