A golden oldie Bobbie

This has a real charm, lots to hold your interest.

A delightful nostalgic painting, wonderful detail, love the kettle on the trivet. Brought back memories of my childhood. Mother had a Victorian fire range similar to this in our the kitchen, happy days.

Excellent work Bobby , my grandparents had a cooking range like that , and a oven that baked the best balm cake ever , thanks for prodding the memory.

Thank you Heather, Andrew, Romila, Carol and Paul for your kind feedback. I think we all try so hard to move forward and get better with our art, we sometimes forget some of the good pieces we produced in past years.

So true, Bobbie. I agree.

A lovely old-fashioned hearth scene. Very well drawn.

I was framing some work ready to exhibit at h.Art (Herefordshire Art Week) yesterday, when I rediscovered this oil pastel drawing I made in 2017. It was inspired by a photo of a 17th century farmhouse kitchen at the Beamish Museum in County Durham in a book called "English Cottage Interiors" by Hugh Lander and Peter Rauter. I love the way the firelight is reflected in the gloss paint on the settle.
