Excellent pastel work Bobbie I think the pastel has worked particularly well on the white buildings .

Thank you all. I chose to paint the cottages because when I began the tops of the surrounding hills were hidden in mist and low cloud, which gradually lifted and then came down again. The challenges of plein air painting!!

I've just returned from 10 days on the Isle of Man. While I was there, I managed find a few hours to work en plein air at Cregneash, a living museum which shows what Manx rural life was like 100 years ago. It's impossible to carry wet canvasses on a motorbike, so I painted Harry Kelly's cottage and the surrounding buildings in pastels on brown MiTientes paper.
