Excellent Bill! It is an interesting combination isn't it, your painting has a very ethereal quality to it! I have been playing around again with the colours and am just about to post my effort so do take a look and tell me what you think.

It does sound like a weird colour combination but what a result ! I like this one a lot.

This appears to me to be like a moonscape - slightly unworldly and eerie, which is probably due to the colours used. Great composition though, with the rocks rising strongly out of the sweeping hillside. 10 out of 10 for effort and achievement!

Thanks for the very kind comments Christine, Louise & Thea. I suppose it does look like a re-imagining of Skye for Star Trek!

Atmospheric! The colours work well together too .

I agree with the above comments, Bill: fantastic atmosphere and stunning colour palette for this challenge!

Thanks Sarah and Mia, your comments are much appreciated. Maybe I will have to steel myself & try something all-green!

Well, almost! I've only got two tube greens, and the nearest to viridian was cobalt green. Interesting trying to combine a metallic, granulating pigment with a staining dye-based one! I'd never have thought of doing that, nor the (to me) weird colour combination, but I really enjoyed messing about with this. Completed in an unseemly short time for me, but I already had the composition and tonal balance worked out for a different project, so thought I'd give it a go.
