Developing project - thoughts/advice most welcome!
My daughter has asked me to paint something for her birthday - the only stipulation being that the subject must be on the Isle of Skye. I've decided upon the unique rock formation near Portree known as the Storr. I'm intending to try 2 versions, in watercolour and oil. This posting is the latest of several studies that I'm doing to develop the idea. A major issue is giving an impression of scale - the rocky pinnacles are huge, over 150 feet high I believe. I've tried to convey this by implying a high viewpoint, yet having the top of the pinnacles protruding well above the horizon. Any comments or suggestions on how its going will be most welcome!
