Beautifully done Brian. So effective.

Great. Like it all, but the way you've done the sea in particular.

Very atmospheric work Brian, although this one isn't so tranquil, more threatening.

Thank you very much indeed, Carolyn, Lew and Jim, for the highly supportive comments. Much appreciated, as always. I'm pleased you liked this effort because it encourages me to move on to the oil version. That's a good point, Jim, and I wonder if that's why I changed the title. There could well have been a subliminal impression forming. It does have a kind of foreboding feel, I agree. Best to all Bri

Really striking Brian, I love the monochrome effect, in particular the way you have painted the soft gentle flow of the tide, brilliant 👍😀

Thank you very much for the kind comments, Linda. Can't ask for more than that! Much appreciated. Bri

Great stuff Brian. Gets better and better. Look forward to the final result.

Thank you very much, once again, Carole, for the super comments. Always appreciated. I'm looking forward to starting the monochromatic oil but I always dither before diving in. Bri

Dramatic stuff Brian, no holding back for you. Impact and a rather nice sense of experimentation going on here I think!

Thank you very much, Alan, for the astute comments. Appreciated. Yes, definitely some experimentation going on, working with light and dark tones from front to back. I'm also playing around with the title and have an idea up my sleeve for the oil. We'll see. Bri

WOW! stunning, Brian. Just gorgeous!

Thank you very much for the "Wow" Thalia. Very much appreciated. Delighted you liked. Bri

A lot of drama in this with the sky and reflections on the sea. Looks terrific Bri. Paul

Just seen this, Paul, so sorry about the tardy response. Delighted you liked. Bri

Charcoal and pastel monochromatic painting/drawing on Canson Mi-Teintes, 32 X 24 cms. A primordial scene of life's beginnings. I used predominantly black and white pastel with strokes of charcoal for the finer lines and rocks. This is an attempt at another version of my Sea of Tranquility painting, before attempting a monochromatic oil. So, it's really a preparatory sketch.
