Know it well and the detail is very good.

Superb drawing.

Your Dove cottage is beautiful... it looks familiar, where is it?

Thank you Richard, Lewis and Lyn I very much appreciate the generous comments. Lyn! Dove Cottage is in the Lake District, a short hop from the beautiful village of Grasmere. It's set slightly back from the Windermere to Keswick road where it meets the Grasmere junction. It is particularly well known as the home of William and Dorothy Wordsworth. The small but stunning lakes of Grasmere and Rydal Water are close by, which give the valley a truly romantic feel in the artistic and poetic sense of the word. The region gave rise to the Romantic movement in poetry. Brian

A truly beautiful and confident drawing Brian, I can imagine your poem is just as beautiful.

Thank you very much, Fiona I'm really pleased you liked this one. Here's a copy of the sonnet for your perusal. I know this isn't a poetry site so there's no need to comment. I just thought I'd show you how they sat next to each other. All the best Brian Dove Cottage When I first climbed the slopes of Loughrigg Fell to trace the spring of old Romantic blood, I knew I’d fallen under Wordsworth’s spell, enslaved to nameless becks and blue bell woods. I watched a cloud drift over Silver How and listened to the wind through copper beech, remembered why I’d walked to Grasmere brow then paused for thought outside St Oswald’s church. Wild flowers thrive and bloom near lakeland’s bard, they weave a coloured path to where he lies and there I stood, alone, beside the crowd, with daffodils and graves before my eyes. Now every time I pass his garden gate, I think of silent tombs and streams in spate.

Reading ‘Dove Cottage’ has been my first visit to the Lake District Brian......a potent description of a place dear to you, which shows in your words. They have power don’t they, words, to transport a being from one place to another. I was correct, it is beautiful, thank you for sharing.

Thanks for that, I remember Dove Cottage and Grassmere lake now, I thought I recognised it..... it's a beautiful place. Love the poem to.
