Lamorna, Cornwall
Have almost completed walking the Southwest Coast Path, which has become an addiction over the years. It has been a constant source of inspiration for my painting. However, I didn't find Lamorna or its setting especially attractive when I walked this area a few years ago, but something about the photographs I took made me realise recently its potential for a painting scene. I decided on a fairly limited palette and added a touch of alizarin in most of the colour mixes to help harmonise the painting. About half the work was done by palette knife, most of the rest by brush. I also drew with pen dipped into very watery mixes of acrylic paint. Size: 17" x 17".
