Superb painting, loved them as a kid, and like Brian I was lucky to see them at Barry dock on my way to RAF St Athan, great memories invoked by you both.

Feel as if that train is moving ready to take one away from all these dark times. The steam and atmosphere are very palpable Barry.

Love this, Barry. As usual, well painted. Your treatment of the people is so good. It brings back good memories, when I was a kid there were a few steam trains still running...especially on 'day excursions' to the seaside towns in Kent. So...really fond memories.

Felt like a bit of nostalgia, not that I am in anyway a train buff but I was just having a thought about the old steam engines and thought I would give one a go.
