Looked at your second posting first and repeat my comments: shame on your local art society. Not a million miles from some of my abstracts if you care to take a peek. So as you can guess I love the energy in this - keep posting.

Yes me too and have echoed similar comments on your other piece. Expressionist Abstract is the phrase I will use, They usually go over my head with these terms but this fits what I want to do. It's simply smashing Barbara

You're quite right abstract expressionism. I was asked to collaborate with a regional textile guild on their new theme Windows on the Weather. I had run a workshop on textural effects in watercolour and been demonstrating dropping with a pipette and tilt and turn so I decided to do this on the canvas, there is still a bit showing, as I worked the picture grew and lots of different material used to get the variety of textures vaguely representing water, ice snow etc. The last element was the focal point using the 3d printing pen. Great fun and I like it. What got me is the want to join the club submit traditional work! I expect better nowadays. Artists who close themselves off to the vast array of new materials available severely limit their creativity in my opinion.

Expressionist abstract focussing on winter weather elements. I love the energy and movement within the painting and the variety of textural effects. This painting was just rejected by a local art society as not 'traditional' enough!
