Stunning picture! Very special subject, what an original idea! Your colours are so subtle and yet bright! What pen and ink did you use? Every ink line is in harmony with the watercolour next to it. Wonderful!!!

Brilliant work. I also always admire artists who can spot a subject for a painting in unlikely places.

Mia, the pen is a Sepia Pitt artist's pen by Faber Castell. I find Sepia less stark than black.

Hope you don't mind me asking, but do you use masking fluid.? This is yet another lovely work.

No I didn't use masking fluid for this painting. I just painted washes around the snow. Many many washes !! I do use masking fluid sometimes but always remove it soon after the first few washes.

Fantastic painting, great composition and colours

Well done, Anne...a good eye for a composition!

Pleased to hear you don't rely on masking fluid, because (although I've got some) I hate the stuff. A very very accomplished painting.

Another fabulous painting Anne!

This is great! Such a brilliant idea :)

Great structure and shape, I like this very much.

Pen and Watercolour 35cm x 25cm. The shapes of these dead sunflower heads in the snow captured my attention.
