stunning,I love that it appears as a watercolour, and a beautiful subject. beautiful rendition, I feel I could reach out and touch them, but so frail too. well done. PS I too was watching my similar roses drooping after the heavy rain, but still hanging onto their petals.

Beautiful roses Anne!

You've certainly captured that delicate and fragile texture - drooping petals after rain. Beautiful.

Thank you Elizabeth, Louise and Gunrun for your encouraging comments :)

Gorgeous delicate watercolour painting. you have capturd the real essence of the rose. Wonderful portfolio Anne and a beautiful style you have! jx

Thank you Jean. I am always a bit unsure of painting flowers because I don't do botanical painting and so sometimes wonder if I've 'got it right' so to speak. However it is the essence that I want to capture :)

Very beautiful and wonderfully well painted.

Beautiful composition and stunning painting Anne

This botanical watercolour leaps off the page at us Anne, it is gorgeous, the superb salmon pink blooms are beautiful, it is a joy to look at!

Thank you Glennis, Thea and Ros :)

This is just so beautiful, so real you can smell them.

This is really beautiful.

A beautiful delicate painting.

Thank you for your kind comments Karyl, Dawn and Sheridan. it is actually my second attempt at this picture. I didn't like the colours I used the first time round so painted it again.... bit of a chore but happier about it now.

Beautiful painting of beautiful roses. They look as though they have a lovely scent too.

They certainly do look beautiful. Would you give your secret away and tell me which pinks you use, they are fabulous Anne.

Thank you Susan and Carole. :) Carole, Although I usually use Permanent Rose for flowers for this one I used Quinacridone Red because it's a bit warmer than the PR which for this painting I found too 'acid'.

Oh that was quick! Thank you very much for the info on colour, yes I find PR a bit full on sometimes, this QR looks gorgeous, great choice, thanks again Anne.

Simply stunning, just perfect.

Thank you so much Val.... the roses are coming into bloom again shortly :)

These roses in my garden were hanging their heads after a rain shower but looked beautiful anyway.
