I love this Andy, you’ve captured the movement and colour brilliantly, although not surprising given you’re so adept at anything to do with water!!! Very well done ❤️🐾🌊x

Thank you, dear Linda for that lovely feedback; much appreciated; I so love painting water! much love and God bless, 🙂x♥️xx

You certainly have the momentum of a wave as I rolls over , the colours are excellent.

This was based on a beautiful photograph of a wave breaking, but coming straight at the viewer, that left it feeling somewhat static; to give some movement, I've changed its direction; it's still in progress, and if you can see ways of improving this, I'd love to hear from you! Love and God bless, Andy 🙂❤️🙏🌊

Thank you Paul, for that great feedback! Love and God bless, Andy 🙂🙏🌊

I was looking at some of Turners sea painting this morning and although I would not make a comparison to such a great artist I can say that you have made a good job of this painting to get the structure, movement and colour of a breaking wave...

Thank you John! even to be mentioned in the same sentence as one of my art heroes is pretty amazing! A hydrology background helps I think. Love and God bless, Andy 🙂🙏🌊

Stunning, Andy. Utterly mesmerising. You have caught the power of the sea in the curve of the wave, as it starts to crash down. The colours you have used also emphasise the force that the sea holds, but is also calming to the eye. Very well done, Andy🤗❤️xxx

Thank you, dear Jacqueline, for that fabulous feedback! Really appreciated! Love and God bless, Andy 🙂❤️🙏🌊xxx

I love the power behind that spectacular wave Andrew. It’s jus about to spill huge amounts of water into the foreground surf. I live yards away from the North Sea and the waves are truly magnetic, the force pulling you towards them and I experience the same thing with your painting, so I don’t think there is any more to be done to this. Maybe a bit of white splattering would add more drama but it’s not really necessary Andrew. God bless and I’m sure you’ll decide to do what comes so naturally to you, with regards to painting water 🌈🌈🌈🌈

Thank you, dear Carole, for that wonderful, detailed feedback, so helpful and affirming; much appreciated; its such a joy for me painting water! much love and God bless, 🙂x♥️xx

This is really good Andrew, the colours and breaking surf are wonderful

Thank you, dear Heather, for that lovely feedback; much love and God bless 🙂❤️🌊x

Tremendous painting Andrew. The luminosity in the wave is superb and I can almost feel the weight of the water crashing over me.

Thank you, Russell for that brilliantly articulate feedback; Much appreciated! love and God bless 🙂🌊

I also love the movement in the wave and catching that light.

Thank you, dear Val-Irene for that lovely feedback; that's great! much love and God bless 🙂❤️🌊x

Thank you so much Linda, Paul, John, Jacqueline, Carole, Heather, Russell and Val-Irene for your lovely feedback, on the strength of which I've decided not to make any more changes, so this is the final version of this wave; love to you all and God bless, Andy 🙂♥️🌊

About the Artist
Andrew Smith

I’ve always loved water, its movement, its colour, its power. I had the privilege of working as a hydrologist for nine years before ordination, necessarily but enjoyably observing the movement of water in full flow or even in floods. That was thirty years ago but my love for moving water has not…
