It's rare for me to focus on an almost cloudless sky in a painting; I'd love any advice or suggestions to help develop this painting before I finish? Love and God bless, Andy

You’ve caught the light very well, the only tweak I would add is a slight glimmer in touches on the horizon . Otherwise I love it ... xx😉

Absolutely stunning, Andy. You have caught the essence of Freshwater Bay, even enhancing the magic of it. The colours you have used, compliment each other perfectly. I can almost smell the sea ozone, as the waves crash in on the rocks. Perhaps a couple of birds in the evening sky, in the distance. But thank you for sharing this beautiful painting of my island home. 🤗❤️xx

Thank you, dear Linda, for those lovely comments and suggestion; much love and God bless, Andy 🙂❤xxx

Thank you, dear Jacqueline for that lovely feedback and suggestion; great that I've honoured your island!; much love and God bless, Andy 🙂❤xxx

Don’t do anything more Andrew. It’s terrific. Great balance of light and dark and the foreground is lovely. Love everything about it. If you mess on with it you may spoil it’s intrinsic essence. God bless👍👍👍

Thank you, Carole, for those lovely comments; too late but I've not changed it much; I'll post the modified version in a day or two; much love and God bless my Northumbrian friend 🙂❤xx

It’s just right as it is Andy.

Thank you, Sylvia; love and God bless, Andy 🙂❤

I was born there - well, not actually in the sea, but in Freshwater Bay. I think I'd leave this now - any further touches could begin to over-populate it, whereas now you have a simple image which works well.

Thank you, Robert comments and suggestions, not least as one who lived there! love and God bless, Andy 🙂

Acrylic painting of a beautiful bay on the lovely Isle of Wight

About the Artist
Andrew Smith

I’ve always loved water, its movement, its colour, its power. I had the privilege of working as a hydrologist for nine years before ordination, necessarily but enjoyably observing the movement of water in full flow or even in floods. That was thirty years ago but my love for moving water has not…
