Enjoy my different take, borrowing ideas from elsewhere, on the Pentecost story, to create a painting full of energy, power and individual reactions to this extraordinary event on which the worldwide Church began, God bless, Andy

For those who don't know the story; it's nearly two months after Jesus' resurrection; ten days earlier he had ascended into heaven but promised to send the Spirit of God to continue to guide them and to empower them for service; Jesus had told the disciples to wait in prayer, and then on the day of the Jewish festival, Pentecost, the promised Spirit came, with the sound of a 'mighty, rushing wind', and what seemed like tongues of fire spread through the group and seemed to touch each one; there's no mention of the other way the Spirit appears in other accounts, but it fitted with this story, not least as this event brought people together in extraordinary ways, and the Church ended up being 'launched' with 2000 poeple; enjoy! God bless, Andy

Thank you all for your lovely comments and feedback, dear friends; I've been surprised by the impact of this painting, here and on social media, but delighted too, as it seems to have touched some quite profoundly; enjoy! Love and God bless, Andy 🙂

This is my latest painting 'Pentecost Peace Power', for Pentecost Sunday, focusing on the different reactions, to the coming of the Spirit of God 'with the sound of a mighty, rushing wind, with tongues of fire touching each disciple', for the first time, onto the disciples, trying to capture sound of the movement and energy of that event. God bless, Andy
