A wow from me Linda! A beautiful harmonious painting, particularly like the colours you’ve included in the snow. The wolf’s fur looks so dense, you could sink your fingers in to it.

Painted within such an appropriate, very atmospheric setting. Great textures here and he /she looks very noble. Can feel the chill in the air Fiona.

The palette is wonderfully harmonious and the mirroring of colour in the background and wolf is so effective. Absolutely beautiful painting

Thank you for all your kind comments and for those of you who have followed my WIP on the forum. Some paintings are a struggle, but with this one everything seemed to pull together. Painting wolves might have something to do with it, I have painted so many now but they always sell!!

Started as WIP on the forum. Took my ref photo of a TV program on wolves over Christmas, fantastic program and I took quite a few shots. Painted in oil on Loxley canvas board, 14 x 10 colours used, titanium white, cobalt blue, violet hue, pathos blue green, burnt umber and raw sienna.
