Some very clever use of contrasts of tone in this picture that give the drawing great depth, which in turn gives the viewer plenty to contemplate.

graphite & carbon 32x32cm. I really enjoyed drawing this view of Cadgwith on The Lizard in Cornwall. I loved the way the background of the fishing boats, cliffs and sea are framed by the creel pots, with the light and shadows on the twisted ropes and fishing equipment creating abstract shapes. A similar view can be seen throughout Cornwall in the many fishing ports and is a scene which has remained unchanged for hundreds of years...
