This is successfully chilly

It's lovely and I really like the colour palette, congrats on the sale too

Thank you Gerry, exactly so thought I’d counter a bit with very warm buildings

Thank you Heather, mainly ultramarine, cobalt and phthalo blue with a tad of permanent rose for the sky, + raw sienna, cad orange cad orange and burnt sienna, nearly forgot phthalo turquoise for river and trees

Sorry Heather not cad orange twice, and yes I think we all like our own work but when someone buys one it’s a good feeling

Thank you Paul, I did three of this scene in summer and wasn’t happy with any of them so decided to go with snow it’s so much easier

Thank you Anne very much appreciated

A lovely pure look to the scene, Alan. Really good subtle shadows on the snowy banks, and brilliant perspective achieved. And the stone bridge is very good too!

Superb painting, excellent colours.

Thank you very much Ann your comments are most welcome, with regard to perspective I often go heavy on colour at the start and run out intensity, I’m aware of it but can’t help myself

Beautiful!

Thank you very much Stephen, most appreciated

I can see why she bought it, its a lovely scene.

So much to enjoy here, Alan, particularly the cold...I live in Gozo, Malta!!!

Thank you Jen, yes a pleasing first for me selling a painting to one of the hanging team before it was hung, it is a local scene which always appeals

Thank you Thalia, I find snow scenes much easier and quicker to complete but I guess in Malta you wouldn’t get away with it

Well done. The warmer colours really counterbalance the chill.

Thank you Val, your comments very much appreciated

I painted this local to me scene for the village arts, crafts and baking exhibition, one of the lady volunteers who were hanging the art bought it which was great, did this one for myself, I now know it’s very difficult to copy even your own watercolour
