Captured beautiful in great colour Alan

Much better than my version Alan....I prefer the way the woodland opens up in the distance in this version and also the addition of figures...which I always shy away from. Plenty more darks in this one too to offset the sunny patches.

Looks good to me Alan. Nice feeling of strong sunshine.

Thanks for the comments Dennis , Fiona and Stephen. I&#39;ll call it finished then and put it away to dry. Need to crack on with new stuff, can&#39;t dwell on any one painting too long! Starting a large canvas tomorrow, semi-abstract and colourful, been thinking of some ideas today, going through sketch books, it should be ready for Thursday night if I crack on with it. All comments will be welcome, good or bad, I can take it...!!! Alan<br />

Nice painting Alan - I especially like the dark shadows and the feeling of sunlight.

This is excellent, Alan. You&#39;ve rendered the sunlit patches beautifully and I love the variation of marks and brushwork, which gives the painting such vitality. Thank you too for your very kind comment on my painting. I&#39;ve answered your question, and I hope you&#39;ll find it helpful.

Thank you Dympna and Seok, Yes after all the comments I have decided to call it FINISHED, and it&#39;s put away to dry.

Good shadows with the distant sun shining on the trees Alan. I like the textures on the path.

What wonderful light you have injected into this painting. Super colours and great textures make this a lovely piece of work.

Beautiful composition. Love how you&#39;ve captured the light through through the trees.

I&#39;m loving your oils at the moment Alan, the hint of light on the tree to the left is just enough, and the woodland floor shadow and light is both bold and subtle at the same time. You have been brave to use such a lot of paint.

Oil on canvas 20'' x 16''. May need another half hour when dry, not sure i've captured the dappled light. It looks better when you half close your eyes.
