Another nice one Alan, great sky and light on the sea and cliff

the mood of the moment is again beautifully captured Alan

Great intensity of light and colour Alan.

Wow, talk about catching the mood.

A lovely painting again Alan, great colours and reflections.

You keep doing it Alan. I love the palette.

Again love the sky with touch of orange, the light on the land, beautiful Alan.

Nice work Alan some gorgeous colours in this one

Some juicy colours here Alan, I love the sand against the sea. And that pink flash in the clouds, echoed in the land is perfect.

Alan, do you ever have a bad day? Lol I repeat myself a lot when I comment on your work, but, it is fantastic and the light in this one is stunning. Is that a touch of Emerald Alan, it works beautifully.

Thank you all so much once again for your comments, they are all appreciated. Yes, Fiona, I have many bad days, it might well be a touch of Emerald.

Another winner Alan.

I recognised that sky when I was scrolling down, even before I saw your name. I love the light on the horizon.

Thanks Val and Ellen, glad you like it.

Very impressive - love the sky

Thanks Maureen.

Really super oil painting Alan. The colours are stunning but to be honest, I'd prefer it without the green marker flag and the smaller one behind it. The beautiful scene doesn't need those focal points, my eyes go to the whites of the cliff face and sea. Just my opinion and some will probably disagree!

Thanks Louise, I don't like the smaller flag much but appreciate your comments.

Wonderful colours Alan.

Great sky Alan, very lovely work.

Coming over to my island and painting it - I dunno! There's enough artistic competition out here already, without you overners coming in..... Two things about this one - the sky is right; you get fantastic skies over the sea on this coast: and come to that, all round the island. And the other is that broad band of light on the water, which I think isn't pure white, though it reads that way, but very lightly touched with your green; I wonder if you do ever use pure white in paintings, or if there's always the faintest touch of colour? Anyway, I think you've done Shanklin proud.

Hi Robert, glad you like this effort. No, or very rarely would I use pure white, I generally add a touch of Y O but in this case it was probably some colour off the palette.

Stunner. Particularly love the sky.

What a wonderful sky...steals the show.

Another fine painting, Alan, specially like the "off key" palette and the range of blues.

Most amazing colours in the sky, pure clean lines, calm and peaceful. Lovely painting Alan.

This is a painting full of lovely colours and space. Lovely.

Again top notch Alan indeed so

Love the mood Alan!

A bit , missed this one Alan. ...but felt the need to comment . The painting is very very good, main reason for my praise is the sky, as I love looking at dramatic skies ,this one is as good as they come. It has it all bloodiness, drama and superb colours , very impressive. Again sorry I'm late posting ,but more than worth the effort.

I really love your paintings. They glow with colour and atmosphere. Beautiful.

Oil on gessoed MDF, 20 x 20in. A continuation of my IOW series worked up as before from my own sketches and photo's taken in July. Keeping this series very simple with the emphasis on the atmosphere of the whole scene. The green marker flag was moved slightly and it was centred deliberately to give the composition a focal point.
