Staithes - North Yorkshire.

Staithes - North Yorkshire.

A beautiful but very complex scene. You dealt with it so well. The sunlit side of the buildings draw my attention to them. Very nice work Alan.

A really lovely painting of Staithes, Alan.

Fabulous painting superb light and palette . Very recognisable.

Awesome piece Alan lots of work gone into it and well worth it

The sunlit houses, shadows and beautiful blues. Fabulous.

Wonderful range of blues in this Alan. Simplified, without losing the plot...which you are so good at. I am enjoying the different perspective on your recent postings.

Really beautiful Alan the play of light is splendid

What a corker. Love the water and all about this, Alan. Remember walking up in this area.

Never get tired of either Staithes or your paintings, Alan. The two together are wonderful.

Incredible blues and what a view!!

Beautifully painted Alan, lovely perspective.

Stunning work, Alan. Beautiful palette and composition.

A refreshing take on a popular topic.

Knew this had to be one of yours - full of detail and subtleties, but looking deceptively simple at first glance. And just one glance just won't do!

Beautiful aerial perspective, Alan. Light and shadows work very well.

Thanks for all your comments, far more generous than I had expected. This painting did take a little longer than usual, three one hour sessions in total.

I love this Scene Alan. The areal perspective makes me feel like I could pick up the little toy boats :) thanks for sharing!

Hang on Studio Wall

Oil on stretched canvas 24 x 30in. I worked up this well known scene in the studio with reference from my own sketches and photo's from a few years ago.
