That's a nice piece of work Alan, fresh, bright and lively. Like it.

Moving on is a good sign for all of us Alan.

Beautiful painting and good depth

Lovely painting as usual Alan,

Well this is a beauty Alan but I understand what you mean about stagnating. I enjoy diversifying with all the other styles and activities which I love but I also keep returning to my watercolours which seem to be more to the publics taste hereabout.

Lovely Alan - it has a nice depth, and I especially like the range of colours used, as well as the square format.

I find it is great to alternate between the two styles - careful and representational, and 'let rip'. Always love your pictures. Good luck!

This is a really lovely Winter landscape...love the colours, and composition....one of my very favourites of your postings, I think.

Excellent painting Alan love those figures , I also look forward to seeing the new work

Thank you for all your positive comments, It's nice to know that somebody out there appreciates the effort that I put into my work.

Agree Alan there are so many aspects to painting we are free to escape as far as we like. LOVELY painting

You may prefer abstract and 'exciting' but this sings too!

A lovely autumnal palette Alan. I particularly like your winter branches and the grasses in the foreground .

This is a beautiful piece - great colour palette and excellent dynamic pen work.

I've just seen this on pol's Facebook page, I missed it in the Gallery. I like it very much, lovely Autumn atmosphere, fresh and clean. With some of the characteristics you have in your other work. Look forward to seeing a new direction again. Think I might join you!

I've just finished a small series of oils, all local to me, 20in square on MDF board. The road to the church is just wide enough for one car and runs through stunning countryside on the estate of Lord Harrowby, the hall stands a short distance away and was once the private chapel to the hall. This is my last figurative piece for the time being, I need to re-explore new horizons and develop a more abstract style, similar to some of my earlier work a year ago. I am getting bored with simply painting in a figurative manner, but of course Joe Public likes that style and they will and do sell, however, I have to move on to prevent me from stagnating.
