Can't get bored looking at these lovely sketches Alan, the black ink works very well with the washes. Reminds me of Edward Wesson's 'matchstick' and ink sketches. Look forward to seeing many more.

Crisp and sharp with the inks, light portrayed wonderfully, lovely greens. Very nice indeed. I'm off into the woods today - rain forecast! The only bloomin' day without sun! But it has been planned so.....

lovely softness to this one, Alan contrasting beautifully with the harder ink lines of the church. Enjoyed seeing this.

We can't get bored with your beautiful paintings, Alan, I like the light and the colours and the dark strokes.

Lovely Alan, wonderful washes and composition

Another cracker Alan top notch

Bored? You're joking Alan. Gorgeous

Never get bored with these splendid pieces Alan , thats a lovely paper what colour is the ground on it ?

Cheers everyone, always appreciated. Dermot, the paper is 300lb Fabriano Artistico HP prepared before I go out with a wash of Burnt Sienna, sometimes I add a second wash of say Indigo after the first wash is bone dry, this gives a slightly cooler feel to the whole image.

Beautiful light, wonderful!

Not bored Alan, they are striking paintings.

Love the autumn colours

Another dazzler!

Another wonderful sketch with your distinctive use of white.

Love it!

Haven't been on the site much lately, Alan. It's good to catch up a bit again now. I was caught by this painting in particular, I love the dark contrasts made with the acrylic ink, beautifully complemented by those light washes.

More from my sketching trip earlier this week, brush loaded with acrylic ink and a few quick washes of watercolour added. Went back to the same church yesterday, couldn't resist as it was so sunny and wanted to capture the light, more of those to follow shortly, hope you don't get too bored with them.
