Amazing - and you do realize that what you call a sketch is looked upon with envy by many who would struggle to produce a completed painting half as impressive as this, I hope....?

Great feeling of the light and structure Alan. I often feel that such sketchy work capture the essence of the subject better than a finished painting.

One of many quick sketches done a couple of weeks ago on a sketching trip, no detail and a bit rough round the edges but enjoyable, the Cathedral makes a wonderful backdrop and found its way into most of the sketches done that day. A small 12 x 10in board, just nicely fits into my pochade for such outings and can be useful later on in the studio for a more finished work.
