Crystal clear look to this. Barges are terrific, with wonderful line work. Impressively painted as always.

Smashing work Alan

Catches the attention right off Alan. Love it...

Beautiful sharp drawing with great palette Alan.

nice one Alan

Terrific, Alan!!! Beautifully drawn and great shadows.

Super piece Alan - out of interest what do you use for white - my own preference is for white acrylic ink - just wondering.

Beautiful work Alan, lovely harmonizing colours.

Thank you for some lovely comments, hardly worthy for this quickie but i'll take all I can these days. Michael, I've never tried white acrylic ink, I may just give it a go, this is Pelikan Plaka, a casein based waterproof product, Jackson's stock it I think, it flows nicely from my rigger, been using it since the '80's, they do a few nice earth colours also.

Has a lovely warmth to it.

Another beauty Alan! I love your use of black for the free-flowing lines.

This is definitely a case of less is more..Nice Alan

Thanks Alan - I'll see if I can get a bottle with next order.

Alan - I see Curtis Ward stock them and I get my acrylic inks from them - might even give them a go for my abstract work - thanks for the tip.

Alan, love the darks, love the line work...well, love it all really!!lol

Redolent of Rowland Hilder, but very much your own.

Thanks again to some latecomers, appreciated.

Love the deep contrasts in this Alan, and great composition.

A very simple ink and watercolour 8 x 6in usual hand-tinted paper, an excercise is simplicity, keeping detail to a minimum, always difficult to stop yourself.
