It's just lovely Alan. Well done.

Beautiful painting and the limited palette and the added white works a treat.

The limited palette pulls this super scene together so very well Alan!

Another amazing painting Alan. Love how you have used the strong black and limited colour, very striking indeed.

Nice lively drawing. Where did you get your source material from as most of the proportions are exaggerated and not visible from one point. A better title would be -Impressions of Durham- as you cannot see the Cathedral from any part of Silver Street, it only comes into view after the end of the street part way across Framwelgate Bridge.

A beautiful illustrator's interpretation of a stunning subject which I like very much. Art should tell a story by way of an illusion or an impression. It should not be about photo realism, that is best supplied with photography. I'm not a great fan of the limited palette but the sepia tones do this work of art justice...well done.

Thank you Phil, I totally agree with you.

I love the limited use of colour here, with the black and white it is very striking. Is it acrylics or pastel?

Wow, this is an old one Jackie, black India ink and white Plaka (Pelikan Plaka), the remainder is watercolour on my self-tinted paper, thanks for appreciating my work and for your lovely comments, I am liking your work also, will comment later.

Similar size and concept to Kirkudbright. This imposing cathedral overlooking the city just begs to be painted.
