Frosty Sunset.

And a very difficult subject, because the tendency is always to exaggerate or rather try to compete with the colours of sunset - and to throw the wrong colours and tones at it when 'something isn't right' becomes obvious. This, on the other hand, avoids all those mistakes and deserves a place on anyone's wall.

I'd certainly hang it on my wall Alan, yet another beautifully painted piece.

Lovely Alan, nothing not to like and admire

highly attractive Alan....like it a lot.

Lovely cold winter sky brr.

Beautiful and sensitive painting, Alan, as always...

Great array of greys and blues and so harmonious. The splash of reddy pinks lift the painting exactly the right amount. Beautiful Alan.

Full of life, light and colour.

Thanks everyone, sunsets are notoriously difficult, the tendency is to overdo the colours, I’ve erred on the side of caution!

Another great painting Alan.

Great lights and darks - really good.

Just captured the scene nicely. I can feel the frost and chill. There is no chill around here as yet.

Love this one. Makes me wish I was there in that scene.

A chilly and crisp late afternoon Alan, another winner.

Beautiful painting, Alan.

Just the right amount of musical notes Alan.

Beautiful Alan and so understated, which emphasises the sunset colours more. A lesson to be learnt here, for me.

16 x 20in, oil on canvas board. A view from down my lane. Simple hedgerow composition which has been purposely left uncut by the farmer, creating a mini-haven for birds and other wildlife. We need to see more hedgerows left like this, unlikely mind you.
